Last Will and Testament

When it comes to death there is no pleasant way to think about it. It helps if you are prepared or at least make sure that everything is in order for your family. Your will is a document that lets your family know where and how you want your belongings sorted. There are a few things that you need to do first. You need to prepare this document at a younger age before you become senile, so people don’t trick you into anything. Also it needs to be simple, clear, precise and dated.

Some of the main things that you need to add in your will include: your name, residence, a description of any assets and the names of anyone that you are giving things to. You will also want to have an alternate beneficiary and an executor of your estate. If you still have minor children you will want to include the guardian or person you want to look after them.

Your executor will be the person that manages your will. This can be a family member, friend or any one that you trust. This person will pay your taxes, creditors, read your will and cancel your credit cards. This should be someone that you trust with everything.

You will want to keep this document in a safe place such as a safe, bank or a lawyer’s office. You may change your will by adding papers to it but if there are a lot of changes it might be best to write a new will.
